The Paradox of Moonlight

As the sun graces distant lands,

Hugging tall towers

And blanketing liquid fields,

I am greeted by the moon.

Her light has softened many hard nights

And I consider her a friend,

But sometimes the darkness that surrounds her being

Has my soul feeling dread.
